Aviation & Aerospace
The Aviation Program at Morris Hills High School offers a comprehensive three-year sequence designed to prepare students for careers in the rapidly growing aviation and aerospace industries. Students begin with Introduction to Aviation, exploring aircraft design, flight fundamentals, engineering processes, and gaining valuable simulator time while meeting science graduation requirements. In their second year, students choose between Advanced Aviation, which focuses on pilot preparation including weather theory, airport operations, and FAA regulations, or Drone and UAS Technology, which covers unmanned aerial systems, regulatory requirements, and advanced digital photogrammetry techniques. The program combines theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, providing students with industry-aligned curriculum and practical skills. Students gain comprehensive understanding of aviation technology, from traditional aircraft systems to cutting-edge drone operations. This innovative program serves as an excellent foundation for careers as pilots, air traffic controllers, aerospace engineers, drone operators, or other aviation professionals.
